We currently provide psychological assessments in English ONLY at both our Nepean and Stittsville locations.

Counselling

Jennifer is a Neurofeedback Technician & Psychometrist at Stradwick Psychology & Neurofeedback Clinic. She received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Mental Health (2020) as well as a Master of Science in Neuroscience (2022). Her research focused on molecular signaling in pain pathways and developing new treatment targets for chronic pain that are safe, non-addictive, and effective.

Jennifer is an experienced neurofeedback technician that feels every individual is unique and has their own needs during treatment. She strongly believes in an individualized approach to treatment that progresses at the client’s own pace and comfort level.

As a Psychometrist, Jennifer administers and scores psychological tests under the supervision of Dr. Stradwick. She helps to assess individuals for various conditions, such as learning disabilities and mental health issues.

Maryem is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Stradwick Psychology and Neurofeedback Clinic and is passionate about creating a therapeutic space where clients of all backgrounds feel respected, understood, and supported. She completed an Honours Degree in psychology with a specialization in developmental psychology at Carleton University and a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa.

Maryem’s work is guided by a strong commitment to honouring clients’ values, lived experiences, and strengths. Inspired by her own Muslim identity, Maryem specializes in multicultural counselling and brings a deep appreciation for each client’s unique cultural, religious, and familial context. Maryem has extensive experience supporting children and youth in therapeutic settings, including those experiencing ADHD, social difficulties, behavioural challenges, and emotional regulation concerns. She also works closely with adults seeking support for anxiety, depression, family and relationship stress, identity development, cultural or faith-based conflicts, and personal growth.

Maryem’s therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and integrative. She tailors treatment to each client’s goals, ensuring a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for exploration and healing. Kate is a Clinical Social Worker at the Stradwick Psychology & Neurofeedback Clinic. She is a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Kate completed her BSW and MSW at Carleton University. Kate has extensive experience working with youth, young adults, and their families, with a focus on empowering them in their mental health journeys. She creates an open, safe, and collaborative environment during sessions, fostering youth independence and offering interventions to reduce mental health stigma while promoting healthy coping strategies. Her background includes working with “for youth-by-youth” mental health organizations, where she helped build youth mental health awareness and involved young people in decisions about their mental health. Kate is dedicated to continuing this collaborative practice to facilitate impactful changes in individuals’ lives.

Kate’s area of focus includes working with the following: Youth, teens, young adults, family counselling and parent coaching, conflict resolution, coping skills, self-regulation, stress management.

Kate has training and practical experience in the following areas: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Approaching, Crisis Intervention, and Motivational Interviewing.

Izzy is a Neurofeedback Technician with the Stradwick Psychology and Neurofeedback Clinic. She is currently a graduate student in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. She completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Biology with a minor in Psychology at Carleton University in 2022, in which she produced a thesis with Dr. Michael Seto at the Royal Ottawa examining the patterns in the electroencephalogram (EEGs) of offenders. Izzy is passionate about neurofeedback, and the importance of providing individualized treatment. Her goal is to obtain her board certification in neurofeedback in order continue to help people make meaningful progress on their journeys to self-improvement and psychological well-being.

Hannah O’Brien, B.A., MACP, RP (Qualifying)

Hannah is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Stradwick Psychology and Neurofeedback Clinic with a deep passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology from Carleton University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Committed to supporting clients on their journey toward personal growth and well-being, Hannah strives to create a space of trust and understanding where individuals feel heard and respected.

Many of the clients she works with come to therapy feeling uncertain, stuck, or overwhelmed by their emotions. By fostering a strong therapeutic alliance, Hannah empowers clients to explore their thoughts and emotions, supporting them in achieving their goals and leading more fulfilling lives.

Hannah primarily practices from a person-centered approach, prioritizing empathy and authenticity in her work. While her approach is rooted in this core framework, she also incorporates a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Strengths-Based Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and trauma-informed care. She received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Mental Health from Carleton University in 2021.

She takes a holistic approach to client care, centered around warmth, respect, and curiosity. Her primary focus is to build a trusting and secure foundation with her clients, creating the beginning for beautiful transformation and healing. She supports youth and adults through their journey, exploring their emotions, thoughts, and experiences in a non-judgemental space. Mindy is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Stradwick Psychology & Neurofeedback Clinic. She is a Registered Drama Therapist with the North American Drama Therapy Association and is currently acquiring her certification with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She is a Registered Drama Therapist with the North American Drama Therapy Association and is currently acquiring her certification with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO). Mindy works with children and youth by helping them identify, explore, and process their emotions through verbal and non-verbal means. She develops specific therapeutic interventions that fosters the strengthening of their social skills, self-expression, self-esteem, and their ability to build and maintain interpersonal relationships.

She has extensive experience in leading individual and group trauma-informed therapy in a broad range of clients with multicultural backgrounds, behavioral issues and psychiatric disorders in Canada and the United Stated. Mindy has clinical experience working with clients who struggle with ADHD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, attachment difficulties, complex trauma, PTSD, and autism. Tara is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Stradwick Psychology and Neurofeedback Clinic. She has completed a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Ottawa and is completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Tara provides counseling services to clients of all ages with a wide range of presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, self-esteem, and stress. Tara has experience working with neurodivergent clients with autism and/or ADHD as well as youth who are facing academic or social pressures. She is committed to creating a supportive, inclusive, and affirming therapy space where people from all backgrounds, cultures, and identities feel welcome.

With a foundation in CBT, Tara also draws from other evidence-based modalities such as ACT, DBT, and MCT. Her approach is warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental, with the goal of creating a safe space where you can express yourself freely and begin making meaningful changes in your life.
